I'm sure I will EVENTUALLY blog about Christmas. There was a lot of stuff going on at the kids' school the week before and preparations for the arrival of my family coming so I was pretty busy and decided writing was something I needed to keep off my plate.
Overall Christmas was alright. There was a major... umm... hiccup, that I will not write about, so that has pretty much hung over my head like a guillotine when it comes to my feelings about the holiday celebrations. Since everyone left, I basically withdrew from life and holed myself up watching an unending marathon of Gilmore Girls on Netflix for a couple days. I didn't even pick up my Kindle!!!
Friday I ventured out to spend time with my friend to see a movie and vent. She needed to vent too. It was cleansing. Today hubby and I took the kids out for bowling and I completely got my butt kicked. But it was fun.
Anyway, what I really wanted to write about was the New Year and Resolutions.
I'm not really making any. I didn't really last year either. Well, I did sort of have one... my goal was to read through the entire Bible chronologically and I was doing really, really good until my surgery. After falling behind I was working to catch up once we arrived in Texas. I was making amazing strides and then my phone went swimming when my sister visited and I lost the app that was keeping me accountable. Yes, I could have gone off the e-mails or looked it up on the desktop... but for some reason I didn't and basically gave up.
At Christmas I received a new phone and downloaded the youversion app again and started up where I left off. If I can keep going the way I am, I should finish reading the Bible chronologically by July! Whoot!
The other day a friend of mine on Facebook posted a link to a blog with a challenge I think I might take on for 2015. It is a READING challenge. And if you know me, you know that is totally up my alley!
You can check out her post HERE, but I will also share it.
If you join up, use the hashtag #26BOOKSwithBringingUpBurns on instagram. I'm pretty sure I'll be taking this on for 2015 and am looking forward to it. Some books choices are already floating around in my head!
So that's what I hope to tackle this year. More reading. I figure that's a fitting goal to share. Of course there's nothing saying I can't create a new resolution 4, 6, or 9 months from now?! Who needs a New Year to make a change?! When it's time, you do it!
Wishing you joy, peace, and grace in the new year! I hope it's a good one!
