Holiday Time!

Again, I'm being horrible about updating this thing.

Anyway, tomorrow we're leaving for Washington. It is very exciting because Ryan and I have never been home for Christmas since we were married (4 years) and this is Will's first real family Christmas. We were able to arrange a pet sitter so Maya will be staying in New Mexico.

Leading up to this season we've been doing the usual Christmas shopping -- which was so much nicer in Japan. People in malls and other stores around this time of year are just rude! I also helped out a little bit with the Christmas play at church; they needed me to age the 2 main characters.

Last week I took Will to a little photo studio and he had some holiday and regular pictures taken. Enjoy.

It's a Girl!

Today we had the big ultrasound.

An annoying part was that because of "flu season" we had to wear little masks, like in Japan. It drove me nuts.

Anyway, we got to see the baby and got checked that everything is good. Looks like we're having a girl! Ryan is very happy about that. I'm just happy for another baby, but little girl clothes are so much more cuter than boy's clothes. She is developing well and everything is showing completely normal.


There is one slight problem... right now the placenta is too close to the cervix. There's nothing we can do about that. Since it's still fairly early in the pregnancy there is a chance it will move up. We only need it to move 3 mm! But in the chance it doesn't move or it goes in the wrong direction we will most likely have to have a c-section -- something I REALLY don't want to do. Not to sweat it though. We know about it, my doctor has been informed and I see her in about a week, and we'll just keep an eye on it for the next several months.

Wow, I really can't keep up with a blog anymore.

As just an update things are going well. For Thanksgiving Melissa, Michael and LaRetta drove down to New Mexico and we celebrated a FEAST of food. Some of the desserts went to the young adults at church that Sunday. It was nice to actually see family and celebrate a holiday with them. We look forward to Christmas.

As for Christmas we have plane tickets now. All 3 of us arrive in Seattle on the 21st then Ryan leaves on Jan. 2nd and Will and I follow on the 8th. Lately I've been Christmas shopping and find it is much easier to do so in the states than it was in Japan.

Tomorrow we are having an ultrasound and should be able to find out the sex of the baby. Very exciting!

Maya is doing better with her house-breaking but we still have occassional accidents. It doesn't help right now that it is very cold, sorta snowing, and windy. At least I have a tie-out chain so she can be left outside until she does her business without fear that she'll sneak under the fence.

Other than working on the holiday mail-outs and day-to-day stuff, I guess that's really all for now.
