Bowling - a first experience

Last week -- I'm pretty sure it was last week -- the kids and I went to a birthday party for our friend's twin boys who were turning 5. It was being held at the base bowling alley.

It was Will and Lana's first time going bowling!

We arrived and ate, then the fun began. All the kids had adorable child sized bowling shoes to wear. The special ramps were in place, as were the bumpers.
I discovered something… when you have a fairly large group of children all under the age of five and you are trying to have them take turns bowling it is a lot like herding cats -- cats with small weighted bowling balls.
Eventually we got into a rhythm and all the kids seemed to enjoy themselves. Alanna really liked bowling. She preferred the pink balls and wanted to bowl for everybody. William liked knocking down the glowing pins in the black lights and when the strobes were going off he found those more interesting than bowling.
The kids didn't even finish a whole game. I think they made it through 7 frames. Will was in 2nd and Lana was in 3rd.
It was time for cupcakes, ice cream, and presents so of course sugar outweighs bowling in their minds.
But it was a fun time. I told them maybe we can all go bowling again and take daddy with us. They said yes.
